Today, we’re excited to showcase two special projects: a wooden bottle opener and a heart-shaped wooden box, both made using the Tyvok Spider S1. These handmade items are not only beautiful but functional, perfect for gifts or personal use.

Materials and Tools:

• Wood stain and varnish (optional for finishing)

Project 1: Wooden Bottle Opener

The wooden bottle opener is an ideal project to demonstrate the power of our S1‘s CNC module. Using the CNC feature, you can create a durable and stylish opener that feels good in hand and is sturdy enough for everyday use.

Step 1: Design the Opener

Begin by designing your bottle opener. You can create your own design or download the template at the bottom of this post, which is compatible with the CNC module.

Step 2: Precision Cutting

Once your design is ready, load it into the LightBurn software. The S1 laser, powered with 60W and a 1200x2000mm large working area, precisely cuts through the oak board to shape the opener. The CNC module carves out the details, including a slot for the metal opener insert.

Step 3: Engraving Personalization

Add personalized engravings, such as initials or a logo. The S1 can engrave small, intricate details with stunning accuracy, allowing you to customize your bottle opener to your liking.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

Sand down the edges, apply wood stain, and finish with varnish if you like. Attach the bottle opener hardware, and your handcrafted bottle opener is ready to go!

Project 2: Wooden Heart-Shaped Box

The second project highlights the versatility of the Tyvok S1. This heart-shaped wooden box is perfect for holding small treasures, making it an excellent gift or keepsake. The CNC module allows for precise carving, creating a professional finish on this unique item.

Step 1: Design and Cutting

Using the Tyvok design software, create the heart-shaped outline for the box and its lid. The S1’s powerful laser makes it easy to accurately cut the oak board and ensure the box fits perfectly.

Step 2: Adding Details

You can add a personalized engraving to the lid, such as a name or decorative pattern. The laser module excels in this regard, allowing for intricate yet clean engraving that adds a touch of sophistication to the box.

Step 3: Assembly and Finishing

After cutting and engraving the parts, sand the edges and optionally stain or paint the box. At this point, your heart-shaped box is ready to store small items or keep as a keepsake.
